MVD Entertainment Group is pleased to announce a physical distribution agreement with Full Time Hobby Music, a notable label group based in the UK.

Full Time Hobby Music (FTHM) covers the labels Full Time Hobby and Hassle Records and was founded by Nigel Adams and Wez in 2004. The labels are wholly independent and based in Dalston, East London.

The labels operate separately on an A&R basis, with Nigel taking the lead on FTH and Wez steering Hassle, while sharing the same principle of only signing artists FTHM are really passionate about and having a small, workable and focused roster.

Zach Fischel, MVD’s SVP of Label Relations, stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Full Time Hobby and Hassle Records to the MVD family. We have been fans of their labels, as well as their eclectic group of artists, for some time now. The development of their artists in the UK and Europe has been impressive, and we are excited to assist them with establishing a strong presence in the US. We’re looking forward to a long and successful partnership.”

Nigel Adams, FTHM co-owner stated, “We’re very happy to have found a home in North America with MVD. Physical sales are still really key for us and our artists and MVD offer the on-the-ground support we need.”

Full Time Hobby saw early releases from the likes of The Hold Steady (Boys And Girls In America and re-issues of Separation Sunday and Almost Killed Me), School Of Seven Bells, White Denim, Timber Timbre, Michael Nau and UK folktronic artists Tunng, now celebrating their 20th year with the label. Latterly, signings have included Squirrel Flower, Sylvie, Ghostwoman and the Spiritual Jazz / Psych fusion of Melbourne’s Bananagun.

Hassle Records has a heavier A&R remit and focuses on punk, metal and hard rock. Early signings included Canada’s Alexisonfire and Cancer Bats and from the US, My Chem’s Frank Iero, while the last 7 years have seen the rise and rise of Belgium’s Brutus. UK signings have included Bristol’s incendiary Petrol Girls and Cardiff’s CASEY, while mainstream success beckoned for the likes of Essex’ favourite sons We Are The Ocean and Lonely The Brave.

FTHM are supporters of the Music Declares Emergency movement.
